Using Technology as a Therapeutic Intervention: Spotlight and Giveaway from Lu Borges

Wanna use technology as a therapeutic tool to help kids and teens cope with their illness? I am thrilled to introduce Lu Borges, a child life technology coordinator that will be offering a FREE workshop to 6 lucky winners. This is a great opportunity to gain PDHs and relay the information to the rest of your child life department.

To celebrate Child Life Month, I’m hosting a free 4-6 person workshop in Brooklyn on creating digital patient narratives (stories, journaling, teaching) with your iPad using stop motion, video and image editing apps. We’ll look at setting up a portable “Animation Station” you can use in any area or patient room, as well as have fun with some other tech tools!

The workshop will be held on either 4/11 or 4/18.

We are hoping to have a diverse group of specialists coming from hospitals in the NYC, NJ, and surrounding areas. Please spread the word to your colleagues.

Here’s how to enter:

1. Comment on post below about your favorite App and list your Child Life or CAT level (student, CCLS1)
