Week Two of Child Life Month – Guest Blog Post by Vanessa Silva
My name is Vanessa Silva. I am currently a Junior at a 4 year university. My major is child development with an emphasis on child life. I have always wanted to work in a hospital setting and I have formed a true love and passion for children. Children are the most fragile humans and they deserve the love and respect we all demand. I cannot wait to achieve my goals and become a Certified Child Life Specialist. I became interested in helping children like R, who was a young boy who was in the hospital fighting for his life to the ugliest disease in the world: Childhood Cancer. I cannot wait to help children like R fight and understand their situations through play.
