A Moment of Magic

A Moment of Magic.jpg

There is a contagious smile that appears on our face when we witness a child’s pure joy and happiness. Sometimes we even cry when we see them light up and giggle, especially for those kids who haven’t smiled in a while.

I found myself smiling, nodding and becoming teary-eyed when I watched a video from an amazing organization, A Moment of Magic. Here is a little more about them.

A Moment of Magic is the original 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that allows college-age students to volunteer at children’s hospitals and social service institutions to provide creative programming. Our most popular services include Princess Visits, Superhero Visits, Personality Visits, Athlete Visits, Direct Family Support, and Inter-family Connection.

Our services are provided through hospitals, at the homes of individual children, with other foundations, and via Skype!

Our organization visits children in need free of charge to the institution. We provide services such as individual visits, bedside visits, group visits, story readings, and special events- just to name a few. We are the largest organization of our kind with 12 chapters all over the United States and 400+ volunteers. To read more about our services click here.

We have met more than 9,500 children across 25 states and 2 countries!

Filmed live on stage at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, CA, this not-to-be-missed high energy show stars Original Broadway cast members Jeremy Jordan as “Jack Kelly,” Kara Lindsay as “Katherine,” Ben Fankhauser as “Davey” and Andrew Keenan-Bolger as “Crutchie”. They’re joined by North American Tour stars Steve Blanchard as “Joseph Pulitzer,” and Aisha de Haas as “Medda Larkin,” and Ethan Steiner as “Les” along with members of both the Broadway and North American Tour ensembles, filling the stage with more “newsies” and more dancing than ever before.

Set in New York City at the turn of the century and based on a true story, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenaged ‘newsies,’ who dreams only of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. But when publishing titans Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack finds a cause to fight for and rallies newsies from across the city to strike and take a stand for what’s right. #NewsiesForever

The Truth Behind a Disney Vacation

Disney

Walt Disney World is supposed to be the most magical place on earth for kids, adults and families. If you have ever planned a vacation to one of their parks then you know the excitement you get when planning for the trip. Making dinning reservations with the characters, choosing where to stay, scheduling your park days with parades, rides and meet and greets. But most of all you are envisioning your family making memories and hopefully capturing a few with the camera.

We recently took a family vacation there with our two young boys and my sister-in-law. There were of course the highlights but there was an equal amount of well…….I’ll let the pictures tell that part of the trip.
