Make Your Own Lungs

Teach kids about their lungs and breathing with this simple and easy DIY project using loose parts. Child life specialists, this would be perfect for children with asthma, cystic fibrosis or just to teach how to take slow, deep breaths for distraction and coping.

My son’s kinderfun program created these last week using a balloon, straw and masking tape.

With latex issues in the medical setting, try using gloves, it now incorporates a little bit of medical play too! Tying the finger sections in little knots and then cutting the tips off will help to give it a more circular look.
